Tra Vinh, August 2022 – APL Logistics Vietnam is proud of launching its one hectare of mangrove restoration in Cau Ngang district of Tra Vinh province in August, 2022.

 

The company has a goal of contributing to the communities where it is operating, and mangrove reforestation is one of the most effective ways to make the dream come true. APLL Vietnam decided to choose Rhizophora Apiculata (RZ), a kind of mangrove trees, to help prevent storm surges, and land erosion.

 

Like the other donors, APLL VN funded to plant RZ into different mangrove types in Bần islet, and provide the budget of four years to 2026. It will hand over the planted area to the local Forestry sub – department. During this period, the RZ trees will be planted to ensure the required density of 2,220 trees/ha. 

 

APLL VN, with a participation of the APLL teams from Singapore, USA, and Japan, also held a community event on August 29, 2022 to plant over 200 RZ trees with the local students. More specially, the team awareded ten one – million hardship scholarship to needy students of Nguyen Van Cong high school, My Long Nam commune.

 

An online campaign on raising awareness on mangrove trees will be boosted in the last quarter of 2022 or the first quarter of 2023.
