YOUTH EMPOEHWA WOMANS UNIVERSITY’S STUDENTS PLANT 500 MANGROVE TREES AT THE SRHIMP FARM IN GIONG OI HAMLET, LONG TOAN COMMUNE, DUYEN HAI TONW, TRA VINH PROVINCEWERMENT FOR CLIMATE CHANGE

On July 1st, 2023, 21 female students of Ewha Womans University planted 500 Rhizophora Apiculata mangrove trees at the shrimp farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Y, Giong Oi hamlet, Long Toan commune, Duyen Hai town. This is the second field trip of the Ewha university since 2020. In spite of a womans university, Ewha has been the pioneers in the social activities and environmental protection.

The mangrove planting experience is a part of the the international field trip in Vietnam. The experience of planting 500 mangrove trees has brought them the understanding that environmental protection is very important to the areas affected by climate change.

The Professor Min Bae Hyun shared his feeling at the planting site that “we chose Tra Vinh because this province has been affected negatively by climate change. And as I’ve known, in Tra Vinh, there are many nurseries of mangrove trees, and mangrove planting activties. We come here to get more understandings about this place”. This is the feelings that move us, the Tra Vinh people. Thanks a lot Ewha students!
