HAPAG - LLOYD VIETNAM: MANGROVE PLANTING DAY - A PART OF SEED FOR SEA
🌱Tra Vinh, October 2022 – Hapag Lloyd Vietnam eagerly organized a CSR tour for its team to plant 200 Rhizohora Apiculata mangrove trees in Cau Ngang district of Tra Vinh province on October 21, 2022.
🌱The team included 22 staff from its HCM office led by the company’s CEO, Mr. Christop Quadt. After lauching the one – hectare reforestation project in June 2022, this is a continuous effort that Hapag Lloyd VN likes to engage in protecting the coastal environment.
🌱Before planting, the members took the boats to visit actual mangrove forests so that its staff could observe the mangroves in reality. They also witnessed their Sonneratia Caseolaris mangrove trees on Nạng islet, which were planted since June 2022.
[In June 2022, Hapag Lloyd VN launched its one – hectare reforestation project to plant 2,500 Sonneratia Caseolaris trees in Nang islet of Cau Ngang district. The area has been growing so well, and passed the first check of survival rate report after the first three months. The survial rate is 91.2%.]

With the mission of contributing to the “green peace”, “carbon reduction” globally, on May 10, 2023, the team SK Innovation arrived at Giong Trom hamlet, Long Toan commune of Duyen Hai town to plant 1000 Rhizophora Apiculata mangrove trees at the shrimp farm of Mr. Le Van Tran, and organize the educational activity at the primary school of Vo Thi Quy.
On July 12, 2024, 53 Bel VN staffs joined the event of raising awareness on trash negative effects to the coastal environment with the community at Nhì hamlet, My Long Nam commune. The team also handed 8 trash bins to eight local schools at the event, and collected the trashes with local people
With the mission of fighting against climate change, this campaign will greatly contribute to a more sustainable environment. Through this 01 – hectare mangrove project, Bel Vietnam decided to plant Sonneratia Caseolaris for its impressive adaptability in mangrove areas, high vitality and resistance to natural disasters such as waves, storms, land erosion, etc…
On July 1st, 2023, 21 female students of Ewha Womans University planted 500 Rhizophora Apiculata mangrove trees at the shrimp farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Y, Giong Oi hamlet, Long Toan commune, Duyen Hai town. This is the second field trip of the Ewha university since 2020. In spite of a womans university, Ewha has been the pioneers in the social activities and environmental protection.
