MSD United Way Việt Nam, (hereafter called MSD United Way Vietnam), is a social enterprise founded in October 2022 in Vietnam. MSD United Way Vietnam aims for a sustainable, just, and equitable Vietnam – where all individuals and families can maximize their potential through quality education, stable income, and healthy living.
MSD United Way Vietnam strive to improve the sustainable quality of life for vulnerable community groups through mobilizing and harnessing strength, building an ecosystem of solidarity and cooperation in practicing sustainable development.

Soc Trang, September 2024 – MSD United Way Vietnam has launched one hectare of Sonneratia Caseolaris mangrove tree in An Thanh Nam commune, Cu Lao Dung district, Soc Trang province.
One of MSD United Way Vietnam's goals is to make positive impacts on environmental health, aiming to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for the community. So, the company has sponsored the planting of 1 hectare of mangrove trees in the protective forest area of Cu Lao Dung district, which is significantly affected by saltwater intrusion and soil erosion.
Planting mangrove forests is one of the best measures for adapting to climate change, helping to slow down saltwater intrusion and soil erosion, while Sonneratia Caseolaris also plays a leading role in fighting againts storms and flooding.
The project contributes to establishing a sustainable ecosystem and helps spread awareness and strengthen community ties with the support of local authorities and residents in this region.
Project summary:
MSD United Way Vietnam is funding the planting of 2,500 Sonneratia Caseolaris mangrove trees, with the project running from 2024 to 2033 (10 years: 1 year for planting, 9 years for caretaking).
Throughout the project cycle, MangLub Vietnam, authorized by MSD United Way Vietnam, will be responsible for planting and maintaining the trees to ensure that survival rates meet the requirements. The project will be handed over to the local government by the end of 2033 or early 2034, with a minimum survival rate of 80%.
