Tra Vinh, August 2024 – Seorin has launched a 2 – hectare mangrove project in Long Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province.

Recently, the company has supported projects through its exclusive brands, such as the Round Lab brand, which sponsored mangrove restoration in Bangladesh, and tree planting in areas affected by the Gangwon forest fires. Additionally, the company aims to expand into the Mekong Delta region, which has significantly impacted by climate change.

The planting site is a newly emerged sediment area, making the project crucial for stabilizing the soil, creating a rich ecosystem, and providing a future habitat for aquatic species. Furthermore, this area will help improve the quality of life for residents in the Tra Vinh and Ben Tre provinces in the future. As a result, the project has attracted significant interest and volunteer participation from the local community, raising awareness about the importance of mangrove forests.

Project summary:

Seorin is funding the planting of 2,500 Sonneratia Caseolaris mangrove trees, with the project running from 2024 to 2033 (10 years: 1 year for planting, 9 years for caretaking). Throughout the project cycle, MangLub VN, authorized by Seorin, will be responsible for planting and maintaining the trees to ensure that survival rates meet the requirements. The project will be handed over to the local government by the end of 2033 or early 2034, with a minimum survival rate of 80%. The project will also generate approximately 50 jobs for local residents.
