1. Distribution & Habitat:


The SC is found in tidal river, estuaries with low salinity level (or called brackish water), and even in fresh water areas. In Vietnam, the SC is popular from Hai Phong to Ca Mau, but the majority is in the Southwestern South.


In Tra Vinh, the SC is widespread from Cau Ngang district up to Long Tri island, accounting for 27,35% of total planted forest areas in the province. And Cau Ngang is also ranked the biggest area of SC in the whole province, accounting for 71%, while Long Vinh commune (Duyen Hai district) is ranked second.

2. Other benefits:


The plant can be haemostatic, a folk remedy for sprains, swellings, and worms.
